Don't Wait Before Getting Your Papers in Order!

One of the biggest mistakes players make is waiting until they receive an offer before preparing their paperwork.

Professional opportunities can happen quickly.

Be prepared.

Valid Passport

Your passport should have at least six months of validity remaining.

Birth Certificate

Many countries require certified copies.

Driver's License or Government ID

Often needed during the visa process.

Medical Records

Some clubs require:

  • Physical examinations

  • Blood work

  • Vaccination records

  • ECG heart screening

  • MRI or X-rays (when requested)

FIBA Letter of Clearance (LOC)

If you have previously played professionally in another country, a FIBA Letter of Clearance may be required before you can register with your new club.

Citizenship Documents

Players with dual citizenship should provide documentation for both nationalities.

Holding an EU passport or dual citizenship can significantly expand professional opportunities because many leagues limit the number of non-EU or foreign players on a roster.

Visa Requirements

Every country has different visa requirements.

Your club or agent will usually assist, but players are responsible for providing accurate documentation on time.
